Naatu Kozhi (Country Chicken) curry, this recipe is my husband's recipe. I have no hands on this except taking pictures :) This recipe is easy to prepare and delicious than expected. Bachelor's cooking is always easy and comes with fewer ingredients, but the outcome will be amazing. Naatu Kozhi is good for health and tastes good. Always try to get Naatu Kozhi for your cooking.
This curry goes with rice,phulkas, dosa or idli. :)
Ingredients :
Naatu kozhi (Country chicken) - 1/2 kg
Onion - 1 no
Tomato - 1 no
Green chilly - 4 nos
Ginger garlic paste - 3 tsp
Curd - 1/4 cup
Turemric powder - 1/4 tsp
Coriander powder - 1/2 tsp
Chilly powder - 1 tsp
Garam masala - 1 tsp
Curry leaves - 6 nos
Bay leaf - 1 no
Cinnamon stick - 1
Star anise - 1 no
Salt for taste
For Marination :
For paste :

Curd - 1/4 cup

Star anise - 1 no

For Marination :
- Clean chicken, add turmeric powder, salt, chilly powder, coriander powder and curd
- Add 1 tsp of ginger garlic paste to the chicken
- Mix well and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
For paste :
- In a mixer, add chopped onion, tomato, green chilly and curry leaves, make a fine paste
- Add ginger garlic paste and grind to fine paste and keep aside
For Curry :
- In a pressure cooker, add 2 tsp of oil, add bay leaf, cinnamon, and star anise.
- Add in the paste and cook on low flame for 10 minutes
- Mix the paste after 5 minutes (Don't burn the paste)
- Add the refrigerated chicken to the paste and mix well.
- Cook for 2-3 minutes, check for salt if needed add required salt
- Add garam masala powder and curry leaves
- Cook the chicken curry for 2-3 whistles
- Serve hot
