PUDINA / MINT THOGAYAL (Without Coconut)

Pudina / Mint Thogayal, best side dish for curd rice or any other vegetarian meal. This thogayal is prepared without coconut and very easy recipe. At the same time delicious recipe. 



Ingredients : 
  • Fresh Pudina/mint leaves - 1 cup 
  • Urad dal - 2 Tsp 
  • Dry red chilly - 5 nos 
  • Garlic - 1 no 
  • Cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp 
  • Curry Leaves - 1 string 
  • Coconut oil - 1 Tsp 
  • Salt for taste

  1. Temper cumin seeds in coconut oil 
  2. Add dry red chilli and fry for 30 secs 
  3. Add garlic and curry leaves 
  4. Add urad dal and roast till golden brown 
  5. Add fresh pudina/mint leaves and fry for a minute 
  6. Allow it to cool down 
  7. Transfer the roasted items into a mixer and add salt required 
  8. Grind into a coarse mixture by adding little water 
  9. Serve with steamed rice
