SPICY PEAS CURRY / SPICY PATTANI CURRY

Green Peas, most loved vegetable. Suitable for any type of gravies. This is really a spicy, super delicious side dish perfect to be served with ghee rice, Pulao or roti.

Ingredients: 



Ingredients : 


  • 1 Cup Green Peas 
  • 1 Onion 
  • 1 Tomato (Puree) 
  • 1 Teaspoon Fennel Seeds 
  • 1 Bay Leaf 
  • 2 Green Cardamom 
  • 3 Cloves 
  • 1 Cinnamon Stick 
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Turmeric Powder 
  • 1 Tablespoon Chilli powder 
  • 1/2 Tablespoon Coriander Powder 
  • 1 Tablespoon Gram masala Powder 
  • Salt to taste 
  • 2 Tablespoon Coconut oil 
  • 3 Tablespoon Coriander leaves 

For Green Paste 


  • 8 Garlic Pods 
  • 1 Inch Ginger 
  • 4 Green Chilli 
Grind garlic, ginger and green chilli into a fine paste with little water and keep aside.

Step By Step Picture Instructions : 


  1. Heat Coconut oil in a pan
  2. Temper fennel seeds, bay leaf, cloves, green cardamom and cinnamon stick for few seconds  

  3. Add the green paste and roast on medium flame until raw smell vanishes 

  4. Add finely chopped onion and saute till golden brown 

  5. Add turmeric powder, chilli powder, coriander powder and garam masala powder 

  6. Mix well and roast the spice mixture on medium flame 
  7. Add salt required for the gravy and simmer the flame 

  8. Add tomato puree 

  9. Once the oil starts to separate add water required for the gravy and bring it to boil 

  10. Add half of the chopped coriander leaves and boil for 3 minutes in low flame 

  11. Add the green peas and slow cook for 3-4 minutes 

  12. Garnish with remaining coriander leaves 

  13. Serve hot
