 Dal recipe  - Side dish for chapati / 

தால் - சப்பாத்தி சைட் டிஷ் 


Ingredients 


1 cup cooked moong dal 

2 dried red chili 

1/4 tsp mustard 

1 tsp cumin 

2 tsp chopped garlic & ginger 

1 onion chopped 

1 tomato chopped 

1/2 tsp chili powder 

Curry leaves 

2 tsp oil 

1 tsp ghee 

Coriander leaves 

1/4 tsp garam masala powder 

Salt 



Method : 

1. Cook moong dal with turmeric powder For 3 whistles 

2. In a Kadai, add oil and temper with dried red chili, mustard, cumin, and curry leaves 

3. Sauté well 

4. Add chopped garlic and ginger 

5. Add chopped onion and sauté for a minute 

6. Add chili powder and mix well 

7. Add chopped tomatoes and cook well 

8. Add cooked moong dal and 1/4 cup water 

9. Salt to taste 

10. Cook on a medium flame for 5 minutes 

11. Add 1/4 tsp garam masala powder and mix 

12. Add chopped coriander leaves 

13. Cook on a medium flame for 2 minutes 

14. Add 1 tsp ghee, mix well and turn off the heat 

15. Serve hot
