Kuthiraivali Sambar Sadam / Barnyard millet Sambar Rice / குதிரைவாலி சாம்பார் சாதம்

Ingredients:
1 cup barnyard millet
1/4 cup toor dal
1 onion chopped
1 small tomato chopped
1 cup chopped vegetables
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
2 tsp sambar powder
Chopped coriander leaves
Salt
2 tsp oil
1/2 tsp ghee
To temper
3 tsp ghee
2 dried red chili
1/4 tsp mustard
1/2 tsp cumin
Fenugreek
5-6 shallots
1/4 tsp asafoetida
Curry leaves
Method :
1. Soak toor dal and barnyard Millet separately for 30 minutes
2. In a pressure cooker, add oil and roast onion for 2 minutes on medium flame
3. Add chopped tomatoes and cook for a minute
4. Add chopped vegetables, salt, and turmeric powder. Mix well
5. Add sambar powder and cook for 2 minutes
6. Add soaked toor dal and barnyard millet
7. Mix well
8. Add 4 cups of water
9. Cook for 4-5 whistles
10. Once the pressure is released, add 1/2 cup of hot water eater and mix well
11. Add chopped coriander leaves And cook for 2 minutes
12. Add 1/2 tsp ghee and turn off the heat
13. In a kadai, add ghee and temper with dried red chili, mustard, cumin, fenugreek, asafoetida, and curry leaves
14. Add the tempering to rice and serve hot
