NEY MEEN VARUTHATHU / SPICY FISH FRY

Ney meen / Seer Fish / King Fish most favourite seafood. This is a simple and delicious fish fry. Best to be served as a starter or with steamed rice.

Ingredients : 

  • 3 Pieces Ney Meen / Seer Fish 
  • 3 Green Chilli 
  • 1 Inch Ginger 
  • 1/4 Cup Coriander Leaves 
  • 1/2 Tablespoon Chilli Powder 
  • 1/4 Tablespoon Garam Masala Powder 
  • 1/4 Teaspoon Turmeric Powder 
  • Salt to taste 
  • 3 Tablespoon Coconut Oil 
  • Curry Leaves

Step By Step Picture Instructions : 



  1. In a mixer, add green chilli and ginger 
  2. To this add cleaned and randomly chopped coriander leaves 
  3. Grind them into a fine paste with little water 
  4. To this green paste, add turmeric powder, salt and chilli powder 
  5. Add garam masala powder 
  6. Mix all together 
  7. Coat the fish pieces with this green masala and marinate for 10-15 minutes 
  8. In a tawa, add coconut oil and curry leaves 
  9. Place the marinated fish 
  10. Fry on both sides 
  11. If needed add coconut oil and fry them on medium heat 
  12. Serve hot
