SHANKARPALI SWEET RECIPE

Shankarpali or shakkarpara is an Indian snack popular in Western India, especially in Gujarat and Maharashtra. It is traditionally enjoyed as a treat on Diwali. It is rich in carbohydrates, making it an instant source of energy. It can be sweet, sour or spicy depending on how it is made. This sweet recipe is easy to prepare less than 20 minutes. 


Ingredients : 


  • All-purpose flour - 1 cup 
  • Sugar - 1/4 cup 
  • Sooji or semolina - 1/4 cup 
  • Pinch of salt 
  • Milk - 4 Tsp 
  • Ghee or oil - 2 Tsp 

Method : 


  1. Mix all the ingredients into a tight dough. 
  2. Knead the dough and let it rest for sometime.
  3. Roll the dough into a roti and cut the dough into diamond-shaped shankarpali
  4. Fry in oil until brown.
